“Being selected for Team Canada is an incredible milestone that goes far beyond personal recognition. It’s a testament to the power of authentic storytelling. Representing my country alongside such exceptional talent reminds me why I push the boundaries between photography and cinema: to capture raw, unscripted human emotions that resonate on a universal scale.
2027 – Wedding Reportage
My image tries to capture the raw, electric energy of an unscripted wedding moment. By utilizing a high-contrast black-and-white treatment, the image strips away colour distractions to emphasize pure human emotion; from the groom’s intense focus as he pops the champagne to the explosive laughter, shock and candid reactions of the surrounding. It serves as a visual ode to genuine connection and unrestrained joy.
