2021 – Wedding
I love how sometimes a simple pose really allows the connection between the couple to shine. It can be difficult photographing wedding portraits midday in the wide-open prairies. I often head to the valley for the shelter and shade it provides as well as beautiful leading lines and depth.
2019 – Portrait
I remember my great-grandma had a clothesline right off her back step and as a child I always tried to swing on it like a monkey. A lot of my child portrait work is influenced by my own happy childhood memories. I wanted this image to be timeless and joyful so the viewer would smile and remember their own childhood adventures.
2018 – Wedding
It was a hot, sunny wedding day so I had the bride sit on a box underneath a big tree. I used a high angle to showcase the flowers, dress and veil but the bride’s beautiful face is the main focus. I love the simplicity of this timeless black & white portrait.
