World Photographic Cup / Best of Nation & Top 10
The World Photographic Cup is far from a typical photo competition; it’s a prestigious, Olympic-style event that celebrates the art of photography on a global stage. In this unique format, photographers from 29 nations around the world competed not only as individuals but as a cohesive team representing their country.
Six Canadian photographers earned World Top 10 recognition and will represent Canada as finalists at the 2025 World Photographic Cup ceremony (WPC) in Ecuador on March 20th, 2025. Team Canada gathered virtually to watch the Top 10 announcements, it was a testament to their collective talent and hard work, fostering a strong sense of unity and national pride as they cheered on their teammates’ achievements.
All Top 10 finalists are now in the running for individual Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals and depending on their final ranking, these images have the chance to help Team Canada win the World Photographic Cup! Go Canada Go.

2025 Best of Nation & World Top 10 / Nick Didlick
Nick’s extensive career in photojournalism and photography has spanned over four decades, two continents, and over 65 countries. He has twice been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and is a National Newspaper Award-winning photographer. This image earned a Best of Nation honour as the top scoring Canadian image at the 2025 World Photographic Cup. Image Story: “At the Paris 2024 Olympics, I wanted to do more than just straight-up action photos of Olympic athletes and be more artistic in my photo coverage. The new sport of Kayak Cross and the splash down at the Olympic Kayaking venue made for some unique photo opportunities.”
