World Photographic Cup / Awards
A unique Olympic-style competition, the World Photographic Cup is not only about shutter speeds and composition, it’s about the spirit of friendship with 31 countries participating this year. The photographers, diverse in style and background, find a common ground in their shared love for the art of capturing moments.
For Team Canada, it’s the volunteer curators, the collaborative brainstorming, and the collective heartbeat of a team bound by a shared vision—to bring Canadian photographic excellence to the forefront. Our 30 image submission included 3 remarkable photographs in each of the 10 categories. Each photograph, a testament to the artistic brilliance flourishing in Canada.
Today we celebrate the final standings of Canada’s Top 10 images, including Rabih’s BRONZE, helped secure Canada’s 3rd place finish in the WPC competition.
“I’m very humbled to have been able to support my team. I’m equally shocked and pleased with the outcome and tremendously honoured to be part of Team Canada”
2024 Bronze Medal / Rabih Madi
Rabih has tried many different avenues in photography, but wedding photography is what he prefers. This is where he finds true, unfiltered moments filled with emotion. As a photographer, Rabih’s says “I’m just trying to tell genuine stories through my lens on one of the most memorable day of their lives.”
As a photographer, our photographs tend to be quite stationary. That’s why I make it a point to introduce a sense of movement into my images. On this particular day, the strong winds inspired me to capture that motion, allowing viewers to craft their own narratives.
