The World Photographic Cup is a competition in which a team of photographers represent their home country. The photography family (or Camera-derie!) is a bond that transcends language, culture and geography. That’s the foundation behind the World Photographic Cup, a one of a kind international team competition. Nations across the globe, including Canada, meticulously curate their countries images to create a collection of 18 amazing images to enter in the World Photographic Cup.
Team Canada is very proud of it’s success and would like to thank all the volunteers, curators, partners, and photographers who make our country’s entry possible. Our goal is to continue showcasing Canadian photography on the world stage.
All Canadian Photographers, professional and amateur, are invited to submit images to Team Canada for consideration in next year’s competition. Entries are accepted in July and August.
Team Canada earns a 3rd place finish in the 2021 World Photographic Cup competition! We gathered as team to celebrate and cheer for our four Top 10 finalists, and were ecstatic when Team Canada earned a Silver and Bronze medal in the commercial category. Points are awarded to each country based on the top 10 placements and medals won by their photographers.
Congratulations to the entire team, and an extra shout out to these four successful photographers who secured Canada’s 3rd place trophy:
- Commercial – Silver Medal: Louis-Philippe Provost, Gatineau, QC
- Commercial – Bronze Medal: Jacquie Matechuk, Cochrane AB
- Portrait – 6th Place: Ammara Sadiq, Spruce Grove, AB
- Portrait – 9th Place: Stéphanie Lachance, Chambly, QC
“This is our best finish ever and quite an achievement for Team Canada 2021. We are an extraordinary group of photographers, committee members, and curators with everyone contributing to Canada’s success.”
