To Steve, the camera is more than an image capture tool—it’s a doorway to the world’s hidden beauty. Guided by Confucius’ idea that “Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it”, he aims to capture scenes with both clarity and emotion.
Alongside his personal work, Steve also takes on aerial, editorial, and commercial photography projects, and takes pride in helping clients achieve their objectives. He is based in Abbotsford, in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia, and works both on location and from his fully equipped home studio.
“Great photographs transcend language and culture, connecting people through the universal language of emotion. In a world that feels increasingly divided, being part of Team Canada—where we come together and use photography as a medium for unity—fills me with both pride and gratitude. I feel very honoured to be a part of this team.”
2026 – Nature / Landscape
I almost missed this photograph in Antartica. My gear was already packed in the dry bag for the final zodiac ride back to the ship. The crew was urging me to hurry when I noticed a lone penguin pacing at the edge of the iceberg, ready to dive. There was no time to think. I tore the bag open, grabbed the camera, and relied purely on instinct. I captured a single frame – just before the penguin dove into the water. Great images can appear without warning. Be prepared, be present, and ready to respond—because every photograph is a fragment of time that will never return.
