WPC Photography Exhibition / Sault Ste Marie ON
Prepare to be captivated as Camera Craft Gallery hosts an exhibition highlighting the extraordinary photographs that showcased Canada’s artistic talent at this year’s World Photographic Cup (WPC).
One of Team Canada’s featured images is a fine art photograph by Sault Ste. Marie photographer – Violet Aubertin, who learned early on in life to appreciate the little things and to find the beauty in the discarded. Viewers will be stunned to learn her image was taken in a decommissioned 1885 asylum for the insane, “I am both humbled and honoured to have earned the opportunity to represent Canada,” said Aubertin. “To have the support of your teammates helps solidify the greatest sense of community, and it’s an honour to now showcase these images in my community.” Aubertin will be on site all day October 9th.
The World Photographic Cup, comparable to the Olympic Games in its global scale and team format, serves as the ultimate arena for photographers to showcase their talent on an international stage. This year six of Canada’s 30 images earned Top 10 honours with one Sports image winning a Gold Medal. 28 Nations participated and Team Canada was thrilled to place 6th overall.
The exhibition will not only showcase the remarkable images that represented Canada this year but also pay homage to past Canadian achievements, with the stunning images that have clinched world medals in previous editions of the World Photographic Cup.
Join Camera Craft Gallery as we celebrate Canada’s spirit of creativity and excellence in this mesmerizing exhibition of photographs.
