Bio
Rachel Jones Ross has always been compelled to explore. When her children were small, she explored the world through research and study in social psychology, earning a Master of Science. As her children grew, so did her explorations; she is a licensed pilot, and a certified diver. Today Rachel explores through travel and photography.
Rachel is an avid stargazer. Her photography is deeply inspired by the night sky, and the stories it tells. She utilizes a series of techniques to capture her starry landscape images, turning hints of light into detailed scenes of our place on Earth, and its place in the Universe. Rachel is a member of the Sony Alpha Imaging Collective, and a PhotoPills Master. She teaches workshops from her home in the Canadian Rockies, Norway, Finland, and Mongolia.
“It is a privilege to represent Canada in the World Photographic Cup. There are so many incredible artists in the landscape and nightscape community, and it brings me so much joy to celebrate with the team on the world stage.”
