World Photographic Cup / Awards
A unique Olympic-style competition, the World Photographic Cup is not only about shutter speeds and composition, it’s about the spirit of friendship with 31 countries participating this year. The photographers, diverse in style and background, find a common ground in their shared love for the art of capturing moments.
For Team Canada, it’s the volunteer curators, the collaborative brainstorming, and the collective heartbeat of a team bound by a shared vision—to bring Canadian photographic excellence to the forefront. Our 30 image submission included 3 remarkable photographs in each of the 10 categories. Each photograph, a testament to the artistic brilliance flourishing in Canada.
Today we celebrate the final standings of Canada’s Top 10 images, including Louis-Philippe’s 9th place finish, helped secure Canada’s 3rd Place podium finish in the WPC competition.
“I am once again honoured to represent Canada on the World Photographic Cup stage.”
2024 9th Place / Louis-Philippe Provost
Fine Art photographer Louis-Philippe Provost is inspired by architecture and travelling, sharing his passion through his creative work where he studies buildings and landscapes from new and different angles.
He favors black and white to highlight the composition and contrast of his images. As seen here in his image of ‘The Ring’, a 30 meters in diameter sculpture suspended in the middle of two buildings in downtown Montreal’s Place Ville-Marie. The Ring was designed to represent the union between the past, present, and future of the city.
