World Photographic Cup / Awards
The World Photographic Cup is a competition in which a team of photographers represent their home country. The photography family (or Camera-derie!) is a bond that transcends language, culture and geography. That’s the foundation behind the World Photographic Cup, a one of a kind international team competition. Nations across the globe, including Canada, meticulously curate their countries images to create a collection of 24 amazing images to enter in the World Photographic Cup.
Team Canada is very proud of its success and would like to thank all the volunteers, curators, partners, and photographers who make our country’s entry possible. Our goal is to continue showcasing Canadian photography on the world stage.
All Canadian Photographers, professional and amateur, are invited to submit images to Team Canada for consideration in next year’s competition. Entries are accepted in July and August.
2023 Canada Celebrates our Finalists
WPC Team Canada helped send delegate, Holly-Lynn Latimour, to Singapore to represent herself and Team Canada the World Photographic Cup.
Latimour attended the WPC awards ceremony, held at the Furama Riverfront Hotel in Singapore on March 17th while the rest of Team Canada watched virtually. Together we celebrated Canada’s achievements as Latmiour walked on stage to collect a 10th place finish for her commercial image, and also represented Ron Gesser, who earned a 6th place in the natural portrait category, as well Canada’s Best of Nation winner, Jo-Anne Oucharek.
Congratulations to the entire team, and an extra shout out to these three successful photographers:
- Commercial – 10th Place: Holly-Lynn Latimour, Pefferlaw, ON
- Natural Portrait – 6th Place: Ron Gesser, Westmount, QC
- Wildlife – Best of Nation: Jo-Anne Oucharek, Cochrane, AB
“Having one of our photographers attend the ceremony in Singapore in person added to the excitement of the event. The rest of the team felt like we were there as we shared in the celebration and cheered for Canada.”
